MOPS & MomsNext to provide the Annual Twice-Loved Toy Shop
Just in time for Christmas, the Moms of Vinton MOPS & MomsNext are hosting our annual Twice-Loved Toy Shop. This year, the shop will be held downtown at E.C.H.O. Mnistries located at 109 W. 4th St., Ste A.(located just next to LaGrange Pharmacy). Donate gently used toys and have the opportunity to shop our “new to you” inventory of toys and games for a free will donation.
Merry Christmas to All, and to all a Patriotic Good Night
The 8th Annual Veteran's Patriotic Christmas Parade theme will be "Veterans Thanking Hometown U.S.A.". The parade will take place on Thursday Evening, November 15 beginning at 6:00 p.m.. If you would like to line up to be in the parade, meet at 5:30 east and south of the Methodist church (6th St. and 2nd Ave.) All that would like to be in the parade are welcome, please don't bring a Santa, as he is already going to be visiting from the North Pole, please use a Christmas or Patriotic Theme.
VPRD to hold dance for those with mental or physical disabilities, October 31
The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of activities and events for the adult population within our community that have mental and/or physical disabilities. Through our programming, we strive to provide engaging environments that provide affordable opportunities for socialization, recreation and fun!
Advance registration is required for many of these activities.
Fall Craft and Bake Sale at Skate Center
There will be a Fall Craft and Bake Sale this Saturday, November 3, at the Vinton Skate & Activity Center from 8:00-1:00 p.m. The annual event features crafts, baked good and other items from all over the area. Beginning on Saturday, October 27
The Spooktacular Day will take place at the Benton County Courthouse lawn, beginning at 10 a.m. for grade school and younger children. There will be games and pumpkins to decorate and treats. The children will then participate in the downtown trick-or-treat parade,at 10:45 visiting many businesses.

La Porte-Dysart FFA plans Nov. 11 pancake breakfast at Ag Museum
The La Porte Dysart FFA will sponsor a pancake breakfast on Sunday, November 11th, from 9-12:30 at the La Porte City FFA Historical and Ag Museum located at 408 Main, La Porte City.
This amazing breakfast is featuring fresh off the griddle pancakes and sausages along with fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee. This fundraising event is a free will donation.
Fundraiser and Auction to benefit Raul & Pastor Jessica Munoz-Crane Family
An Italian Supper and Silent Auction benefit to help the Raul and Pastor Jessica Munoz-Crane family will be held on Sunday, November 18 from 4-7 p.m. at the Vinton Presbyterian Church.
Jesse Santiago Munoz-Crane was born on Saturday, August 18, and he has been diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Severe Combined Immune Disorder (SCID).
Houdini presenter to share historic magician's story at library, Nov. 6
